Ready New York – Disaster Preparedness

How to prepare yourself and your business are for disasters.

This presentation will educate freelancers and independent contractors on how to be prepared for different types of natural, human-created, or accidental disasters. We will teach personal preparedness for home and work, how to prepare themselves and their families, and what to prepare for different types of disasters. We will be giving some information on how to prepare yourself as an independent business person or small business to be prepared and ready for all hazardous events. It will be a two-way conversation where we will make sure that the audience learns what it means to be prepared in a city of 8 billion people.

  • How to prepare important documents and information to be READY.
  • When to stay and when to go in different disaster situations.

About the instructor:

With 25 years of experience, Hardy Brooklyn has given presentations, motivational speeches, and keynotes for organizations including the American Management Association, Toastmasters, Compact, Hewlett-Packard, the Independent Computer Consultants Association, Microsoft, Facebook, Bonnaroo, Outward Bound, Queens College and the Boy Scouts of America on topics ranging from personal health, technology, business, wilderness safety talks, and presentations. Hardy has developed a curriculum on boundaries and consent to help teach people how to actually interact better in their family situations, and he has presented all over the world not only on Zoom. He was born in Brooklyn and has been a pillar of the community and supporting the community in all aspects.

He will be presenting on behalf of CERT for the Ready New York 

CERT operates under the umbrella of NYC Emergency Management, and we provide emergency preparedness information to residents to ensure they are safe and prepared before an emergency.  We also deploy to assist first responders and the public during and after emergencies.
