Welcome to ABFF 2027
For three decades, the American Black Film Festival has served as a defining platform for exceptional storytelling, elevating visionary artists, introducing exceptional work, and advancing opportunity across film, television, and digital media.
In 2027, ABFF enters a new chapter in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world. More than a change of location, this move signals an ambitious evolution: strengthening the festival’s connection to the industry, extending its cultural influence, and creating a broader stage for emerging talent.
Whether unveiling a premiere, encountering groundbreaking work, advancing your career, or engaging with the future of film and television, ABFF brings creators, industry leaders, and audiences together to exchange ideas, forge meaningful relationships, and shape what comes next.
A CONNECTED FESTIVAL FOOTPRINT
Taking place across four centrally located landmark venues—The Grove, SLS Beverly Hills, the Original Farmers Market, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures—ABFF 2027 is designed to be connected and easy to navigate. Complimentary daytime festival shuttles provide convenient transportation between official venues.
Two Ways to Experience ABFF
Submit Your Work
ABFF showcases exceptional work from emerging and established storytellers, connecting selected projects with industry professionals, media, and audiences from around the world.
Submissions are now open for the 2027 American Black Film Festival. We invite filmmakers to submit narrative features, documentary features, and episodic series for consideration.
Priority will be given to films with a Los Angeles premiere.
