CBS Mornings Grows Ahead of Holiday


CBS Mornings was the only morning show to see growth in total viewers and in the Adults 25-54 demo during the week leading up to America’s 250th Independence Day.  

CBS Mornings was joined in the growth territory by ABC News’ Good Morning America, which finished in the plus column in the advertiser-coveted demo. Meanwhile, GMA is also keeping the race tight between it and NBC News’ Today. The two programs were only separated by 59,000 total viewers. 

NOTE: Good Morning America was retitled on Tuesday (06/30/26) to GMA-ABC, Today was retitled to Today-TS, and CBS Mornings was retitled to CBS Morn. All three morning shows were retitled on Friday (07/03/26) due to the Fourth of July holiday. These retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC’s, CBS’s, and NBC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday). 

According to Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, GMA averaged 2.768 million total viewers and 455,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of June 29. Compared to the previous week, ABC News’ morning show was down -1% among total viewers but up +1% in the demo. When looking at how it performed in the same week in 2025, GMA was up +6% in total viewers and +2% in the demo.

Today was No. 1 in both categories with 2.827 million and had 568,000 demo viewers for the just-concluded week. The broadcast recorded a 5% decrease in total viewers and a -10% decrease in the A25-54 demo compared to the previous week. Against the same week in 2025, Today grew by +12% in total viewers but was down -2% in the demo.

CBS Mornings had 1.738 million total viewers and 288,000 viewers in the demo for the week of June 29. Compared to the previous week, CBS News’ morning show grew by +5% in total viewers and +14% in the demo. Compared with the same week in 2025, CBS Mornings declined by -5% in total viewers and -3% in the demo.
