Alien III :: Behance

Alien is an ongoing series I began in 2020, using a modified camera that allows me to capture both the infrared spectrum & visible light within one picture. The result: familiar landscapes are alienated through infrared (IR)-induced color shifting.

For the third chapter of this series, I traveled further north to the Austerdalsbreen Glacier, located in Jostedalsbreen National Park in the southwest of Norway. It is a prominent side branch of the Jostedalsbreen ice cap, which covers 487 km².

Glacial walls, fractured ice, and sculpted surfaces, refracted through a spectrum invisible to the human eye. A new facet of the extraterrestrial.

Familiar turned unfamiliar. Alien.
