Marketing Week backs Massive Marketing Quiz

The third annual quiz is held in support of The Marketing Academy Foundation and homelessness charity Under One Sky.

Marketing Week has teamed up with The Marketing Society, Fortune Hill and The Marketing Academy to launch the third annual Massive Marketing Quiz. The ambition is to raise £250,000 for The Marketing Academy Foundation and homelessness charity Under One Sky.

This year’s quiz is themed the ‘Iconic Brands Edition’ and will see over 150 CMOs battle it out at Snapchat HQ in London on 20 November to be crowned the winner of the brands and marketing themed quiz.

Money will be raised through sponsorship, donations and an auction on the night of a variety of desirable items provided by the marketing community.

Money raised will go towards helping The Marketing Academy Foundation put on more of its ‘BeTheOne’ employability bootcamps and help it find and support apprenticeships, both of which help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds get a start in marketing.

The quiz will also support Under One Sky, a volunteer-led charity, with its goal of ending homelessness in the UK through education, compassion and collaboration.

Joel Barnett, founder of marketing leadership search firm Fortune Hill, says he is determined to make this year’s event the “biggest yet” and raise more money for charity.

“Every year, the CMO community comes together for a night of unforgettable, marketing-themed fun, friendly rivalry and genuine connection – all to harness our industry’s creativity to change lives,” says Barnett.

Global chair at The Marketing Academy, Craig Inglis, believes the evening is a reminder of why everyone should be “so proud to work in marketing”, a community that stands for “something meaningful”, while also knowing how to “have fun”.

“Last year was such a hoot – watching a room of CMOs make some pretty wild guesses as the quiz progressed,” says Lianre Robinson, CEO at The Marketing Academy Foundation.

“But what really warmed my heart was knowing everyone there supported our cause and wants to do what they can to ensure talented young people from low-income backgrounds, fly.”

The event is also supported by Snapchat and Pretty Green.

To find out how to help raise money by becoming a sponsor at the invite-only event or to donate an item for the after-quiz auction, please contact Fortune Hill at [email protected].
