It’s hump day for Netflix as the Season 2 premiere of Wednesday debuted at the top of Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of August 4.
The initial four-episode drop of the mystery/comedy series starring Jenna Ortega earned 3.750 billion viewing minutes, enough to give it the second-largest weekly streaming total of 2025 so far. The Adults 18-49 demographic made up more than half (51%) of the watch time, with another 20% coming from the 17 and younger demo.
After a week of near Netflix domination in the Top 10, other streaming services returned to the chart, including Hulu, Paramount+, and Prime Video.
According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, three titles had more than a billion viewing minutes for the week, with Netflix occupying six spots in the chart, with two of those positions having shared distribution rights.
It was a welcome sight for sore eyes in the No. 2 position as Hank Hill and company landed in the chart with new episodes of the revived animated sitcom King of the Hill, giving Hulu 1.208 billion minutes viewed. This was the series’s first-ever Top 10 appearance, with the new episodes accounting for 77% of the total watch time, resonating with the Adults 18-34 demo, who made up 43% of the watch time. Meanwhile, 34% of watch time came from the Adults 35-49 demo.
Dropping to third place was Netflix’s The Hunting Wives with 1.203 billion minutes viewed. It was followed by another Netflix title, KPop Demon Hunters, which slid to fourth from third place with 977 million viewing minutes. Disney’s Bluey continues to hold steady in the No. 5 position with 776 million minutes viewed.
Regarding the bottom of the chart, Sullivan’s Crossing was in sixth place, bringing in 698 million minutes viewed on Netflix. This was followed by the shared title Paw Patrol on Paramount+ and Netflix, barking up 679 million viewing minutes to land in the No. 7 position. Another Paramount+ title, SpongeBob SquarePants, returned to the chart, taking eighth place with 675 million minutes viewed.
At No. 9 was Grey’s Anatomy, shared between Hulu and Netflix, with 675 million minutes viewed. In the final spot was Amazon Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, with the series gathering its highest weekly total with 665 million viewing minutes.
