Alongside unprecedented development, recent exponential technological advances have also led to greater political and social fragmentation, the flourishing of extremism and economic inequality, massive algorithmic surveillance and, inevitably, the progressive redefinition of power relations, reconfiguring the concept of sovereignty, now hostage to the omnipresent technological giants. This will be the theme for a new edition of the INDEX biennial in Braga, from 7 to 17 May 2026, proposing a broad reflection on the multiple relationships between Power, Art and Technology, through a diverse programme which includes live shows, conferences, an exhibition and educational activities, which will take place at different locations throughout the city.
